Back to Flowers
Hypericum is a flower where each stem consists of a large number of non-edible berries. Hypericum comes in different shades of red which makes them
a good choice for Christmas flower arrangements and bouquets. When one takes a closer look at hypericum, some varieties features berries of a larger size compared to other
varieties. In addition to different shades of red, one can also obtain pink, white and green hypericum.
Hypericum is not used as the primary component of a flower arrangement or bouquet. It is used
in combination with other flowers to create colourful arrangements and bouquets. As hypericum ages, some of the berries change to a darker colour. However, when maintained
properly, hypericum is quite hardy and can last for more than a week.
Red hypericum is available throughout the year. Some of the other colours are more widely available at certain times of the year.
Power Flowers attempts to maintain a stock of red hypericum and when available, obtain some of the white and green hypericum.
WARNING: As mentioned above, the berries on a stem of hypericum are not to be consumed by humans or pets (they are not like edible raspberries or blueberries). It is best to keep flower arrangements
and bouquets containing hypericum away from pets, as the berries can be easily detached from the stem.
