Liatris is a rather unusual looking flower that has a rough exterior covering a long stem. Very small light purple blooms can be seen protruding from the rough exterior. In terms of colours, liatris is limited to light purple.

Since they have long stems, liatris is a good choice when you need to add height to a flower arrangement or bouquet. In altar arrangements or large sympathy arrangements, liatris can be used to create arrangements that are more visible from longer distances. When maintained properly, liatris is quite rugged and can maintain their appearance for over a week. As liatris ages, the light purple blooms become frazzled and lose their original clean appearance. If you are looking for a flower that is different from roses and other more traditional flower choices, liatris may be a good option.

There are short periods during the year where liatris may not be as widely available or when small amounts available have already been purchased by other buyers. In the event that liatris is not available, we suggest using another tall purple flower, such as iris, as a possible replacement.
