Back to Flowers
Spider mums are rather intriguing flowers that come in a variety of colours including white, green, yellow and orange. One can also
obtain colour dyed spider mums that are a result of immersing the stems of white spider mums in a coloured dye. When spider mums are obtained from
suppliers, spider mum heads are usually covered in mesh nets to protect them during transit. When the net is removed from the
head of a spider mum, they effectively expand to their full size. The head of a spider mum looks very much like an exploded firework consisting of a large number
of thin petals emanating from the center of the bloom.
Because of their sparky blooms, spider mums can be used in flower arrangements and bouquets to give someone in need of a boost
just the lift they need. Although it appears that the thin petals can blow away in a moderate gust of wind, spider mums are quite sturdy. If maintained
properly, they can maintain their overall appearance for over a week.
Spider mums are available throughout the year. White and green spider mums tend to be available on a
consistent basis, but the other common colours are also regularly available.
Power Flowers obtains spider mums quite frequently, with white and green spider mums
purchased on a fairly consistent basis. We also try to purchase the other common colours when they are generally available from suppliers.
