The gerbera is a very popular flower that can be best described as a large daisy. Their large heads and bright colours are often uplifting and help to raise spirits. As a result,
gerberas can be used in flower arrangements and bouquets sent to someone that may not be feeling well or are spending time in a hospital.
Since gerbera heads are relatively large, they can be effectively used in bridal and bridesmaids bouquets as well as in reception centerpieces at a wedding.
Four or five gerberas are sufficient to create a colourful bridal or bridesmaid bouquet, and the same number of gerberas along with other flowers can be used to create a nicely sized
Like the rose, gerberas are available in a wide range of colours. Some of the common colours are orange, red, yellow, light pink, hot pink and white.
Unlike the rose, the gerbera stems are very flexible and can break easily if one does not handle the gerbera with care. In order to fortify the strength of a
gerbera stem and reduce the probability of it breaking, gerbera tubes are used. Gerbera stems are inserted in these plastic, transparent tubes to give gerbera stems some strength.
Gerberas are available throughout the year. Note that a certain colour or colour combination may not be available if the farm has temporarily halted the growing of
a particular gerbera. However, we try to keep most of the colours referenced above throughout the year.
